Hillaker indicated that “Normal spring rain would not be even close to getting soil back to field capacity in the northwestern sector of Iowa” ” The rest of Iowa is halfway decent. “

The article goes on to say that the warmer fall temperatures may actually help the soil capture some of this winter snow initially.
