SunscreenThe FDA has come out with new regulations with respect to sun screen. When I first saw this video, I wasn’t aware of new FDA regulations with respect to sunscreen. Each year I learn a little more about how the exposure to the sun can be beneficial, (Vitamin D) and harmful with respect to skin cancer.  This video is well worth your time in learning about how to understand (the new label information on sunscreen) and well worth the 3 minute viewing.

Here are some of the highlights mentioned in the video.

  • The SPF should be 15 or higher.
  • Also look for Broad Spectrum on the Label to protect yourself from all types of ultraviolet rays.
  • The FDA has banned the terms waterproof and sweat-proof. Look for how long the sunscreen is water resistant in time measurement.

This summer look for updated FDA labels on sunscreens.
