Bottled WaterThe following story aired this week in the northeast part of the country.

“E. coli bacteria were found in the water supply on June 10, 2015. These bacteria can make you sick, and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems,” said company officials. Source: report, June 22, 2015

This incident really highlights the fact that bottle water companies do test their water supplies on a regular basis. As a precaution, this particular company recalled bottled water that was used from this water supply. Water testing is critical. In light of all the recent rains, I really believe more testing is needed to insure safe water supplies not only for companies but individual’s private wells.

At Midwest Laboratories we are seeing an increase in testing with respect to coliform and e.Coli in water supplies. If you own a private well, you may want to consider testing your well soon as a precaution.  The Domestic Suitability Water Test – $70 is a good test to insure your water is safe for drinking.  If you have questions about water testing, please call and talk to a representative at Midwest Laboratories. Bottles are available for collecting samples and they can be shipped or picked up in person. Be safe this summer.
