DRIVING SMART DECISIONS
As we close out 2017, plans are being made for 2018. Those plans include upgrades to current lab system processes. Our goal is to continually work at being as efficient as possible. We are currently planning for some major system upgrades that will help us achieve higher standards in the areas of lab analysis and data management. More news to come in 2018.
In 2017, we continued our goal of updating our current lab equipment and facilities. These investments are necessary to keep analysis costs down for customers as well as to continue to strive toward high-quality analysis for the future.
With the introduction of the MyLab Interface, our clients now have more power than ever to manage their data access for themselves and their respective companies. We are continually looking at adding new functionality online for better data submittal and retrieval.
Soil sample volumes continue to be high for this time of year. We are seeing a consistent sample volume of 15,000 – 20,000 soil samples per day. I look for these volumes to go down a bit as colder temperatures are expected as we get closer to the middle of December.
Midwest Laboratories hosted its first annual Food Conference in November and I want to thank the participants and speakers for participating in a very informative meeting. We look forward to hosting another food conference in 2018.
Midwest Laboratories will be closed on Christmas, December 25, 2017. (Microbiology Laboratory will be open for client work)As far as shipping samples, UPS, Spee-Dee and FedEx will be closed on December 25, 2017, too.
Please take some this time this holiday season to gather with family and friends. It is a time of sharing and caring for others.
