Understanding Soil Acidity

Agriculture needs to rely on sustainability to protect long-term soil productivity. Soils from around the world tend to become acidic with time. The tropical climates tend to have more issues with soil acidity.

Soil acidity limits crop yields due to the negative impacts on soils physical and biological properties.  Effective use of nutrients is necessary for soil sustainability. Review the 4R practices such as soil pH (or liming). Adjusting soil pH improves the soils environment for the roots of the crops supporting access to absorb nutrients. Research your region as there may be specificity guiding local farm practices.
