Full Press Release from Dec. 2020

Midwest Laboratories Announces Relocation of 14-building Campus to Data Axle Campus, formerly Infogroup, in Papillion, NE.

Omaha, NE – Today, December 1st, 2020, Midwest Laboratories announces their 14-building campus will move its headquarters and operations south to Papillion, NE. The 45-year-old company based at 13611 B Street Omaha, NE 68144 will move into the 176,000 sq. ft, Data Axle, the former Infogroup, campus at 1020 East 1st Street in Papillion, NE.

Midwest Laboratories is pleased to announce the move will be the first step in the 3-5-year expansion plan of our lab operations. Chief Executive Officer, Brent Pohlman, began seeking new space due to the company’s exponential growth and advancements. The consolidation of our 14 - building campus off B street to one centralized location will offer increased quality control, enhanced visibility of sample analysis, and efficient communication. We are confident that the City of Papillion will best suit our needs for continued growth and advancement of our service offerings.

Pohlman shares, “After all that we have been through during this pandemic, working remotely, and limiting exposure of employees, by reducing our contact across campus, the goal is to bring everyone back together as one family on one campus”.Midwest Labs employs 208 people and has increased its employee headcount by 100% in the last two years. “We want everyone back under one roof to increase our employee morale and continue to create a positive culture at Midwest Laboratories”.

These employees are lab operations, client experience, and corporate administrative staff. They are all essential to operating our business and we continue to grow when we are together. In 2019 Midwest Laboratories achieved record growth of 10% and anticipates continuing this trend through the close of 2020.  This year also brought the expansion of a Microbiology Research and Development Building to the current campus. We are already maximizing the 14-building campus on B street and as our leadership team continued to meet during 2020, we discussed the need for increased space. It is the right time to look at moving the entire campus to allow for future expansion. The goal is to complete the campus transition by 2025.

The new property was originally constructed in 1998 with 131,060 square feet and expanded in 2006.

The campus is 176,033 sq. ft of office space located on 27 acres in Papillion, NE. It features 1,400 cubicles, 63 offices, 20 conference rooms, four training rooms, an expansive break area, outside seating and over 1,106 parking spaces. As an analytical testing lab substantial construction effort will be required to transform this space into a functional lab. Pohlman states, “We have completed an extensive due diligence period with many inspections and business development planning meetings.  The next steps will be continued evaluations on the usage and space requirements of each department, employee feedback, and solicitation of community partners to begin improvements on our new campus”.

There will be no immediate change to our current operations nor any disruption of services to our partners. By relocating our campus, we aim to expand our service offerings and build additional space for sample receiving, shipping, supplies and analysis across all our current labs.
